Freeze-drying installation of continuous action for manufacturing food powders from plant stuff.

Summary

The installation is aimed for the freeze-drying of previously frozen and granulated fruits and vegetables. Stuff drying is effected in a rotating sublimator with continuous removal of the dried layer by means of its rubbing off while mixing. Removal of the dried layer from the grain surface lowers the resistence to the heat and mass transfer to a minimum, which allows to make drying at the lowered, in the range of 40-50 deg C, temperature of the heating surface, at the same time preserving highly intensive heat removal.
