A PRESSURE COOLING SYSTEM IN A NEWLY CONSTRUCTED COLD STORE TO COOL GRAPES FROM FIELD HEAT TO 274 K (1 DEG C) OR LESS WITHIN 30 HOURS IS DESCRIBED. 16 FAN STATIONS ARE FED BY A PUMPED OVERFEED LIQUID AMMONIA SYSTEM, THE FLASH GAS-LIQUID PUMPING SYSTEM BEING ILLUSTRATED. TEMPERATURES ARE CONTROLLED TO PLUS OR MINUS 0.2 K OF SET POINT BY ELECTRICALLY OPERATED SUCTION PRESSURE VALVES. G.R.S.
