Summary
According to data worldwide the consumption of fish and fish products represents the most frequent source of food poisoning. Large part of the paper is devoted to the discussion of bacterial, viral and parasitic hazards related to fish and fish consumption. Chemical hazards are less common but are also discussed. Possibilities and ways of elimination of such types of hazards are pointed out.
