FOR DEVELOPING THE USE OF BLUE WHITING, IT IS POSSIBLE TO PRODUCE DRIED AND SALTED FISH. SMALL SCALE EXPERIMENTS GAVE HIGH QUALITY PRODUCTS AND MARKETING IN AFRICA IS PROMISING. A HEAT PUMP CONSIDERABLY REDUCES ENERGY CONSUMPTION. EXPERIMENTS CARRIED OUT IN NORWAY SHOW THAT THE USE OF A HEAT PUMP MAKES IT POSSIBLE TO REDUCE ENERGY CONSUMPTION BY 1/4 TO 1/7 COMPARED TO CONVENTIONAL PLANT. DRYING CAPACITIES AND ENERGY CONSUMPTION ARE CALCULATED FOR DIFFERENT COOLING CAPACITIES, DIFFERENT TEMPERATURES AND VARIOUS TYPES OF TUNNELS.
