A SIMPLIFIED MODEL IS INTRODUCED FOR A COLD CHAIN, FROM STORAGE AT THE MANUFACTURING PLANT TO THE STORAGE IN A REFRIGERATED CABINET AT THE RETAILER'S, WHICH HAS A GENERAL VALIDITY FOR ALL PRODUCERS, DISTRIBUTION AND SALE ORGANISATIONS. THE CONDITIONS FOR REALISATION AND THE RESULTS OF A PRELIMINARY SURVEY FOR KARLSRUHE REGION ARE REPORTED, SHOWING THAT ALMOST ALL PRODUCTS REACH THE CONSUMER WITHIN A SATISFACTORY TIME, WITH A SMALL EFFECT ON PRODUCT QUALITY.
