Intensification of the operation of heat-exchange equipment in thermosiphon in ships.

Summary
The authors give the results of experimental studies on boiling and condensation processes of R12 and R22, on horizontal tubes and inside vertical tubes, under the operating conditions of a two-phase thermosiphon. They present the methods for intensifying heat exchange by increasing the micro-and macro-roughness of the surface, and also by using turbulators. The possibility is shown of decreasing considerably the heat-exchange surface of the two-phase thermosiphon, thanks to the heat-exchange intensification. C.C.
