Investigation of HFC-236ea and HFC-236fa as CFC-114 replacements in high temperature heat pumps.

Summary

The cooling capacities and the COPs are evaluated. Tests were performed with evaporating temperatures from 0 to 35 deg C and condensing temperatures from 40 to 110 deg C. Both the theoretical and compressor-calorimeter experimental results suggest that the two R236 isomers are acceptable alternatives to R114. This work indicates that preference may be given to R236fa as a R114 alternative in high temperatures heat pumps.
