Isobutane-propane mixtures: comparison with traditional and non-traditional refrigerants.

Author(s) : RIVIS E., BIDONE A.

Summary

The complete range of isobutane-propane mixtures as well as other traditional (R12 and R134a) and non-traditional (R152a, RC270, DME) refrigerants has been studied. The investigation studies the evaporation range from -10 to -35 deg C and condensation range from 45 to 55 deg C. The theoretical investigation has also been compared to the results of tests performed in a freezer with different percentage of isobutane in the mixture. The study demonstrates RC270 and DME are also very good alternatives in the natural refrigerant field.
