Summary

-NEW DEVELOPED MACHINES FOR NET-PACKING WERE COMPARED. GREAT DIFFERENCES WERE NOT DISCOVERED; THE MACHINES SEEM TO IMPROVE KEEPABILITY. -IN TRIALS WITH CO2 DURING STORAGE IT APPEARED THAT SHELF LIFE AND TASTE BECAME LESS AS A CONSEQUENCE OF CO2 APPLICATION. -PRESSURE COOLING WAS TESTED ON TOMATOES IN THE USUAL PACKING. WITH THIS SYSTEM IT SEEMS POSSIBLE TO COOL TOMATOES TO 288 K (15 DEG C) IN ABOUT AN HOUR.
