THE PRODUCTS FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION INCLUDE WHOLE KRILL, KRILL PASTE, SHELLED KRILL AND PROTEIN CONCENTRATES. THE FIRST ONE CAN BE FROZEN, BUT ITS FREEZING DETERIORATES ITS PROPERTIES AND THAWING MAY CAUSE UP TO 50% MASS LOSS. FOR THIS REASON, ITS COOKING IS PREFERRED: 2 TO 5 MIN AT 363-368 K (90-95 DEG C) FOLLOWED BY QUICK-CHILLING. KRILL PASTE, AFTER HEAT COAGULATION, CAN BE GROUND, AGGLOMERATED AND FROZEN, GENERALLY BY 10-KG BLOCKS. KRILL CAN, AFTER COOKING AND CHILLING, BE SHELLED AFTER FREEZING AND FRICTION IN A ROTARY DRUM. FROZEN KRILL CAN ALSO BE USED FOR FEEDING FARMING SALMON AND TROUT. G.G.
