Summary

A new selective medium, LITMA broth, was developed to determine the presence of Listeria monocytogenes using the impedance method. With this selective medium Listeria could be detected in minced meat within a maximum of 17 hours after a preliminary 24 hours enrichment. This was confirmed in the measuring cell with the gene probe "Accuprobe Listeria monocytogenes".
