THE ARTICLE DESCRIBES EXPERIENCES WITH MAINTAINING YEAST AT VERY LOW TEMPERATURES USING LIQUID NITROGEN. THIS PROCEDURE PERMITS TO ACHIEVE THE TEMPERATURE OF 76.2 K (-196.8 DEG C). COMPARING WITH OTHER METHODS, THIS PROCEDURE IS MORE EXPENSIVE BUT ITS GREAT ADVANTAGE IS IN THE RELATIVELY HIGH VIABILITY OF CELLS (62-95%).
