Market trends and drivers in new product development of natural refrigerant components.

Number: 1171

Author(s) : FUNDER-KRISTENSEN T., KARAMPOUR M.

Summary

The viability behind choosing natural refrigerant systems is driven by many parameters. This paper presents the trends in the development of natural-refrigerant based systems and components. The main drivers and obstacles, accelerating or slowing down these trends, are discussed within a governing-forces model. Established and emerging developments in specific HVACR domains and the outlooks are reviewed in major applications of natural refrigerants where those geographically are applied. These include food retail, air-water and water-water heat pumps and chillers, mobile refrigeration, and industrial refrigeration.
