Mathematical modelling of chilling and freezing processes in irregular two-dimensional geometries.

Summary

The objectives of the study were: 1) to numerically simulate freezing processes in two-dimensional systems of arbitrary shape through the implementation of a boundary-fitted grid code; 2) to compare the calculated freezing times with a set of experimental published data and predicted values using a finite-element method.
