Methods of test for cooling tower drift eliminators.

Type of article: Periodical article
Summary
The causes of Legionnaires' disease have highlighted the need for really efficient drift eliminators. There are problems associated with the use of current procedures for the isokinetic sampling method and the droplet impactation technique. A comparative microbiological/droplet impactation test demonstrates that it is possible to compare directly the results of the two tests. Goes on to describe a series of tests carried out at the University of Warwick to this end, and presents and discusses the results.
