Microbial control of building cooling water systems: managing Legionella and your risk. AS/NZS 3666 parts 1,2,3. Participant workbook.
Author(s) : AIRAH
Type of monograph: Guide/Handbook
Summary
An outbreak of Legionnaires' disease can be fatal but what about the impact of microbial contaminants on the indoor environment and public health? This participant workbook of the seminar explains the obligations and application of the standard AS/NZS3666: "Air-handling and water systems of buildings: microbial control". It introduces participants to the science of microbial control in both air and water systems from an engineering perspective. It helps ensure participants are aware of the health risks and legal ramifications of a poorly designed or maintained system, and understand how to ensure risks are minimised. Extract from the table of contents:microorganisms; Legionellae and the built environment; Australian and New Zealand standard AS/NZS 3666; cooling water systems of buildings; design for microbial control in cooling water systems; control methods; management of control methods; cooling water system operation and maintenance; risk management; 16 case studies; the indoor environment; microbial control in air handling systems; operation and maintenance of air handling systems.
