Summary

The paper describes the modeling of a miniature ejector in the application for small capacity cooling systems. The analysis of various refrigerants was performed and as a result, two optimum refrigerants were selected for further analysis, specifically an isobutane (R600a) and a synthetic refrigerant R245fa. The calculation procedure for the geometry and operation parameters of an ejector was presented along with analysis of the numerical results. The performed CFD analysis of the operation of miniature ejector showed a reasonably good agreement with a classic approach based on 0D model. As a conclusion, advantages and limitations of an ejector cooling system were discussed.
