TEST REPORT ON THE STORAGE SUITABILITY OF CHILLED FISH FILLETS PACKED IN A PLASTIC FILM WITH MODIFIED ATMOSPHERE (50% CO2, 50% N2 ) IN ORDER TO CONTROL SOUNDNESS DURING AND AFTER THE WARRANTED SHELF-LIFE (8 DAYS), TO STUDY THE SIGNIFICANCE OF PACKAGING GAS-TIGHTNESS AND THE EFFECT OF ITS BREAKING AND TO ATTEMPT ESTIMATING THE THEORETICAL LIMIT OF SOUNDNESS. THE EQUIPMENT AND THE PROTOCOL APPLIED TO 46 SAMPLES ARE DESCRIBED AND THE RESULTS ARE DISCUSSED, COMPARING THE SELECTED MICROBIOLOGICAL CRITERIA (MESOPHILIC AEROBIC FLORA, PSYCHROPHILIC FLORA, COLIFORM, PH AND TVBN OF THE SAMPLES PACKED IN A PLASTIC FILM WITH MODIFIED ATMOSPHERE AND OF THOSE PACKED IN A NON-TIGHT PLASTIC FILM.
