THE MACHINE, FOR MAKING SOFT ICE CREAM OR FROZEN CUSTARD, HAS A HOPPER IN THE TOP OF THE CABINET FOR RECEIVING THE MIX, AND A CONTROLLABLE VALVE TO REGULATE MIX FLOW RATE TO A FREEZING CHAMBER. THIS COMPRISES A FREEZING BARREL WITH A BLADE ASSEMBLY, AND AN INSULATED COOLANT GAS CHAMBER. THE CHAMBER IS ATTACHED TO A BASE, WHICH SUPPORTS A SHAFT AND ELECTRIC MOTOR ARRANGEMENT, USED TO ROTATE THE BLADES. THE FROZEN PRODUCT IS EXTRUDED VIA AN EXIT VALVE. (DAIRY SCI.
