Summary
The paper analyses the flow characteristics of refrigerants flowing through capillary tubes. Based on homogeneous flow assumption for the two-phase region and the fundamental equations of conservation of mass, energy and momentum, a mathematical model of capillary tubes is developed. Based on the model, a program is carried out to predict the flow characteristics for R12, R134a in capillary tubes. The results of simulations for a given tube are found to agree reasonably well with the measured data.
