Summary

For a CO2 automobile air conditioning system, transcritical cycle is used and a gas cooler replaces the condenser in traditional system. The character of heat transferring in gas cooler is far different from traditional condenser since in gas cooler the temperature of CO2 is always higher than critical temperature and there is no process of condensing, the temperature is independent of pressure. In the paper, a distributed model of gas cooler is built and the simulation result is checked by experimental data. Many design parameters influence the heat transfer effect, such as fin pitch, length of air tunnel, diameter of micro-channel, etc. These parameters are changed and analyzed and the simulation result could be as a reference of gas cooler design.
