PERFORMANCE OF A CONVENTIONAL AIR-TO-AIR HEAT PUMP WITH R22/R114 AND R13/R12 BIREFRIGERANT MIXTURES.

Summary

THE USE OF BIREFRIGERANT MIXTURES, SUCH AS R12/R114 AND R13/R12, HAS BEEN PROPOSED TO ENHANCE PERFORMANCE OF REFRIGERATORS AND HEAT PUMPS. THEIR BENEFITS APPEAR TO BE MOST NOTABLE WHEN COUNTERFLOW HEAT EXCHANGERS ARE USED ; SOME OF THOSE ADVANTAGES ARE NOT AS READILY OBTAINED IN SYSTEMS WITH CROSS-FLOW HEAT EXCHANGERS. THE PURPOSE OF THE WORK NOW REPORTED IS TO DOCUMENT THE PERFORMANCE OF A CONVENTIONAL AIR-TO-AIR HEAT PUMP WITH TWO SPECIFIC MIXTURES: R22/R114 AND R13/R12.
