Modified atmosphere storage of "Bebeco" apricots.

Conservation d'abricots de la variété "Bebeco" à l'aide d'atmosphères modifiées.

Summary

The storage of "Bebeco" apricots in plastic bags is evaluated. The kinetics of the gases (oxygen, carbon dioxide, ethylene) inside the plastic bags, the physico-chemical characteristics of the fruits, the appearance of physiological diseases, fungal attacks and organoleptic changes in fruit were studied during the experiments. The plastic bags maintained firmness, colour and freshness of the apricots, eliminated weight loss and finally gave the fruits a desirable sensory quality. After 28 days, the values of pH and soluble solids were close to those at the beginning.
