Prediction of pool boiling heat transfer with new refrigerants.

Summary

The influence of the heating wall on the heat transfer coefficient with pool boiling of new refrigerants at the outside of single horizontal tubes can be correlated within empirical prediction methods, at least in a preliminary, approximate manner, by separating the influence of the surface roughness and the material properties, like thermal conductivity, density and specific heat of the wall. The pertaining measurements have been carried out with propane and R134a over wide ranges of heat flux and saturation pressure.
