Prediction of thermophysical properties of CFC-free refrigerants.

Summary

A prediction of the thermophysical properties of new working fluids is presented. The specific volume, enthalpy and the entropy of saturated gas and liquid in the superheated region were calculated by the prediction method of Jelinek, et al. When the critical point of the boiling point is known, the saturated vapour pressure can be obtained as a function of temperature through the Riedel equation. Through the use of an equation of state like that of Peng and Robinson, the specific volume of saturated gas and liquid can be calculated. The method was applied to R124, R134a and R32.
