THE RESULTS OF PUBLIC COLD STORAGE IN 1985 ARE REPORTED. THE STORAGE FACTOR DECREASED BY 4% AS COMPARED TO 1984, THE DECREASE BEING TRADITIONALLY MORE MARKED IN THE FIRST HALF-YEAR. THE AVERAGE MONTHLY STOCK SLIGHTLY INCREASED (0.6%) DUE TO THE LONGER STORAGE DURATION, MAINLY INTERVENTION FOODS (MEAT AND BUTTER). ANNUAL ENTRIES DECREASED BY 2.8%, THE DECREASE BEING GREATER FOR FOODS TO BE FROZEN. STOCK TURNOVER IS STILL INCREASING: IT WAS 103 DAYS, BUT REACHED 177 DAYS FOR MEAT, WHEREAS IT REMAINED VERY RAPID FOR RETAIL FROZEN FOODS AND VARIOUS FOODS. THE DEVELOPMENT OF THESE PARAMETERS IS ILLUSTRATED BY CURVES AND TABLES BY MONTHS, FOODS AN EIN. J.L.
