Summary
The benefits of using quality standards in supplying hotels, clubs, airlines and the domestic market with pre-packaged ice cubes are discussed. The application of BS 5750 Part 2 (ISO 9000, EN 29000) to the production and delivery schedules and its impact on customer acceptance is emphasized. The standard is also applied to cold stores operated by the company, and also for the production of commercial ice for fish markets and process applications in the chemical and other industries.
