THE VARIOUS FACTORS AFFECTING QUALITY ARE EXAMINED, IN PARTICULAR GENETIC IMPROVEMENT, PHYSICAL MEANS TO REPLACE CHEMICAL PESTICIDES SUCH AS IRRADIATION, MODIFIED ATMOSPHERE PACKAGING AND HEAT. BIOLOGICAL CONTROL IS CONSIDERED AT LENGTHINCLUDING ANTAGONISTIC MICROORGANISMS, INDUCED RESISTANCE AND NATURAL PESTICIDES.
