Summary

This fourth chapter provides the reader with examples of practical applications in which R22 can be replaced by an HFC suitable for the required task. In some configurations, changes designed to comply with standards by simply replacing refrigerants are impossible. Retrofitting or simply replacing the systems then has to be considered. Finally, as an example for a water chiller unit, it was demonstrated that the choice could only be final after mathematical analysis of the environmental impact of the new operation mode.
