THE APPLICATIONS OF AIR SOURCE SYSTEMS HAVE BECOME MORE POPULAR OVER RECENT YEARS BECAUSE OF THEIR IMPROVED CHARACTERISTICS AND COP. WITH WATER SOURCE APPLICATIONS THERE IS ALWAYS THE PROBLEM OF SUPPLY AND WATER TREATMENT. THE ARTICLE DESCRIBES THE VARIOUS FEATURES OF AIR SOURCE SYSTEMS AND COMPARES FOUR DIFFERENT INSTALLATIONS WITH REGARD TO INITIAL COSTS, OPERATING EXPENSES, SPACE FOR MACHINERY, ANNUAL ENERGY CONSUMPTION AND COP. THE FOUR INSTALLATIONS COMPARED WERE: 1) AN AIR-COOLED PACKAGED AIR CONDITIONER-HEAT PUMP ; 2) A WATER-COOLED PACKAGED CONDITIONER AND A HOT WATER BOILER ; 3) A TURBO-COMPRESSOR LINKED WITH A BOILER, AIR HANDLING UNIT AND FAN COIL UNIT ; 4) AN ABSORPTION LIQUID CHILLER WITH THE SAME LINKAGE AS THETURBO UNIT.
