Summary

THE AUTHORS THINK THAT THE RECYCLING OF CFC USED IN REFRIGERATING CIRCUITS CAN TAKE AN IMPORTANT PART IN THE SOLUTION OF THE CFC/OZONE ISSUE. TO THIS END, THEY PROPOSE THAT WHEN REFRIGERATING CIRCUITS ARE DISPOSED OR REPAIRED, THE REFRIGERANT BE REMOVED INTO BOTTLES AND PURIFIED. A PILOT-PLANT WAS SUCCESSFULLY TESTED. THE APPARATUS IS A PORTABLE ONE, WEIGHING 25 KG, WITH AIR CONDENSATION AND A 15 KG THE PURIFICATION PLANT OPERATES ACCORDING TO A PARTIALLY INTERMITTENT CYCLE, BECAUSE IT CAN BE LOADED WITH 30 KG OF REFRIGERANT AND THEN FED CONTINUOUSLY AS THE DISTILLATION GOES ON ; THIS APPARATUS MUST BE STOPPED FOR CLEANING AND WASTE REMOVAL FOR EVERY 300 KG OF FLUID RECYCLED.
