Summary

Countries implement the Montreal Protocol and its amendments to address global warming and ozone depletion by eliminating halogenated refrigerants. The environmentally friendly refrigerants (EFRs), characterized by their low GWP and minimal impact on the environment and ozone layer, have garnered significant attention. However, comprehensive reports on the refrigeration performance, flammability, and risk assessment of EFRs are limited. This paper examines the thermodynamic properties and flammability of EFRs, followed by an analysis of their refrigeration performance and application scenarios. Additionally, the paper explores the characteristics of leakage and discusses the current risk assessment methods and implementation plans. The study emphasizes the existing research gap in risk assessment for EFRs and proposes future research priorities in this field. The study aims to enhance the safe and widespread utilization of EFRs in refrigeration, air conditioning, and heat pump systems (RACHP).
