Summary
Criteria for the selection of ozone-safe, high-performance working fluids for low and high temperature applications of heat pump. Comparisons in terms of ecological and thermophysical properties for working fluids which can be used without change of system design. Concludes that R134, R134a, R115, and possibly R152A are promising alternatives to R12 for low temperature applications. Six refrigerants have promise for replacing R114 in high-temperature applications.
