Self-cleaning fouling by utilizing potential energy and well-distributed water in vertical condensers in NH3 refrigerating units.

Author(s) : YU T. L., JIANG S. Q., PENG D. Q., et al.

Summary

The two basic reasons why the operating efficiency of vertical condensers is generally low in refrigerating units, are that the fouling effect is serious on the inner wall of heat transfer tubes and the flow quantity of cooling water is distributed rather unevenly in each tube. The potential energy of cooling water itself is large enough to meet the need to self-rotate the twisted tapes and clean the fouling. The bearing, designed to mount the twisted tape at the inlet end of each tube, can also adjust the flow quantity so that the quantity in each tube can be nearly the same.
