Summary

The article reviews ripening indices and provides technical data for apricots, plums, peaches and nectarines. Techniques capable of preventing qualitative deterioration between harvesting and consuming are proposed. Special attention is paid to hygIenic packaging, storing, grading and sizing, in particular for nectarines. Storage of different species (apricot, cherry, nectarine, peach, plum) is described and post-harvest physiological and parasitic deteriorations, phytopharmacy residue problems, as well as grading, sizing and packaging conditions are presented.
