Summary
The paper relates various tests consisting in fresh bamboo shoot tips storage, at various temperatures and with various packagings. The best results are obtained with rapid cooling of tips within a film packaging. Discoloration, weight losses, bacterial or fungal growth seem to be rather low where temperature is maintained under 2 to 3 °C with micro-perforated or non perforated LDPE bags. Shelf life could be extended to more than 20 days.
