Summary

THE EFFECTIVENESS OF CURRENTLY RECOMMENDED MATERIALS FOR THE CONTROL OF STORAGE ROTS WAS COMPARED WITH SEVERAL OTHER MATERIALS. THE EXAMINATIONS WERE CONDUCTED WITH FRUIT OF ORCHARDS WHERE THERE HAS BEEN A HISTORY OF STORAGE DECAY. THE TRIALS WERE HELD WITH FRUIT STORED UNDER CONTROLLED ATMOSPHERE CONDITIONS AS WELL AS IN VITRO. IT IS POSSIBLE TO DIVIDE THE RESULTS INTO THREE MAIN GROUPINGS WHICH INVOLVE: MATERIALS EFFECTIVE IN ALL CASES; MATERIALS WHICH ARE INCONSISTENT; MATERIALS WHICH WERE INEFFECTIVE.
