Stratified tap-water-storage system for carbon dioxide heat pumps.

Author(s) : LEMKE N., TEGETHOFF W., SCHUETZ S., et al.

Summary

With CO2 it is possible to achieve a rather high COP especially if there is a need for high water temperatures, due to the glide in the gas cooler. A new kind of tap water storage system has been developed. The first part of the paper focuses on the thermosiphonic working principle of the system. In the second part, measurements are presented that show the operation of the stratified tap-water-storage system in combination with the carbon dioxide heat pump.
