Summary

THE PAPER DEFINES THE THERMAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE SLAUGHTERHOUSE AND DESCRIBES A SOLUTION FOR PRODUCING HOT WATER AND HEATING SLAUGHTER-ROOMS (SLAUGHTER HALL AND OFFAL PLANT), USING THE CONDENSER OF REFRIGERATING UNITS, A HEAT PUMP RECOVERING HEAT FROM THIS CONDENSER, WATER STORAGE FOR THE OFFAL PLANT, ANOTHER WATER STORAGE FOR THE SCALDING OF PORK AND DIRECT AUXILIARY HEATING. THE OPERATING CONDITIONS ARE WINTER CONDITIONS, THE LEAST FAVOURABLE FOR A HEAT PUMP. THE PAPER COMPARES THE COSTS FOR PRODUCING 130 M3/DAY OF HOT WATER AT 338 AND 363 K (65 AND 90 DEG C), WITH THREE SOLUTIONS: GAS, WATER STORAGE, HEAT PUMP WITH WATER STORAGE.
