Summary

A COMPLEX TOXICO-PHARMACOLOGIC STUDY OF GLYCEROL HYDROXYETHYLA TED DERIVATIVES (HEG) WHICH DO NOT REQUIRE REMOVAL WAS CARRIED OUT FOR LOW TEMPERATURE PRESERVATION OF BIOLOGICAL SYSTE PARENTERAL ADMINISTRATIONS WERE MADE INTO CATS, RABBITS, WHITE RATS AND MICES. HEPATIC AND RENAL FUNCTIONS, INDICES OF PERIPHERAL BLOOD AND COAGULABILITY,THE STATE OF CARDIOVASCULAR AND RESPIRATORY SYSTEMS WERE EXAMINED. A THRESHOLD MAGNITUDE OF THE HEG DAMAGING EFFECT HAS BEEN DETERMINED. HEGS DID NOT SEEM TO BE ACCUMULATED IN THE BODY OF ANIMALS AND EXERT A SPECIFIC ACTION.
