The expediency of ice-banks: thermodynamic considerations and application to modern food plants.

Summary

In numerous food plants, both heating and refrigeration are needed which are not balanced during the year. It is often necessary to use thermal storage systems, for heat or cold. Possible systems are classified according to the exergy method. The particular case of ice storage is outlined both from the technical and economic point of view.
