THE ARTICLE DESCRIBES A SURVEY CARRIED OUT ON THE PROCESSING OF FROZEN VEGETABLES IN THE GERMAN DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC AND JAPAN. THE SURVEY LOOKED INTO RAW MATERIAL SELECTION, THE METHODS OF CUTTING, WASHING AND BLANCHING PRIOR TO CHILLING AND FINAL QUICK-FREEZING. THE SURVEY ALSO MADE AN ASSESSMENT OF FACTORY LAYOUTS AND THE FREEZING EQUIPMENT EMPLOYED AND STATISTICS WERE COMPILED ON THE TONNAGES OF VEGETABLES FROZEN.
