FROM A GENERAL SURVEY OF WORLD MARKET IT APPEARS THAT THE AMOUNTS OF SHRIMP LANDED IN EUROPE INCREASED BY MORE THAN 60%, FROM ABOUT 100,000 T IN 1970 TO 167,200 T IN 1980 ; LESS THAN ONE THIRD ARE TROPICAL SHRIMP, THE REMAINDER FROM COLD WATER, WHICH IS ESPECIALLY THE CASE FOR THOSE LANDED BY FRENCH FISHERMEN, AMOUNTING TO LESS THAN 10% OF OVERALL SUPPLY, WHICH WAS ABOUT 30,000 T IN 1980. IMPORTS INCREASED FROM 17,000 T IN 1976 TO 27,000 T IN 1980. G.G.
