The technology of controlled atmospheres in temperature controlled transportation.

Summary
Preservation of produce by modifying the atmosphere so that it differs from normal air, has been in use for a long time, but only recently direct generation of atmospheres have been developed for reefer containers. Methods of achieving atmosphere changes are discussed and also a method of categorizing the degree of control obtainable. The processes used and possible future developments are reviewed.
