ULTRA-LOW OXYGEN STORAGE OF TABLE GRAPES AND KIWIFRUIT.

Author(s) : CIMINO A., MARI M., MARCHI A.

Summary

STORAGE TESTS IN AN ULTRALOW OXYGEN ATMOSPHERE (0.5% O2 AND 0% CO2 ) WERE CARRIED OUT ON TABLE GRAPES AND KIWIFRUIT WITHOUT USING THE CONVENTIONAL SYSTEMS (SULFURATION, ETHYLENE ABSORPTION). THIS PROCESS GAVE SATISFACTORY RESULTS IN ALL CASES: FOR TABLE GRAPES: 100 DAY STORAGE, EXCELLENT CONDITION ; FOR KIWIFRUIT, THE PRODUCT WAS STILL QUITE MARKETABLE EVEN AFTER A 120 DAY STORAGE.
