Summary

Air conditioning system accounts for 30%-50% of the whole yearly energy consumption in a cigarette factory. The energy saving for air-conditioning system is of great importance. Five cities in different climate regions are selected as typical cases for the cooling/heating load calculation of cigarette factories. The hourly sensible and latent loads are simulated by an architecture load calculation tool, DeST. According to this, a new central air conditioning system based on energy-bus and integrated refrigeration system with thermosyphon function is proposed. This system takes the water loop as the energy distribution bus and the terminals are direct-expansion water cooling/heating air handling units with thermosyphon function. Hangzhou, a city in middle China, is taken as the example to simulate the energy consumption of the new and the existing systems. It is shown that compared to the existing system, 20% of the energy consumption can be saved by adopting this new system in Hangzhou.
