Summary

The air-conditioning cycle with mechanical compression process by utilizing water as a refrigerant was theoretically and experimentally analyzed. To decrease the superheat, steam injection from the condenser into the cylinder during compression process was considered. The result showed that the liquid ring compressor was available for compressing the low pressure steam in almost air-conditioning condition and that further improvements are required to decrease the mechanical loss mainly caused by agitating of liquid ring and to increase volumetric efficiency.
