Absorption of R11, R123 and R245ca by electric motor varnishes: rate and equilibrium.

Author(s) : DOERR R. G.

Summary

The rate of absorption or R245ca by six electric motor varnishes is much slower than that of either R11 or R123 at three exposure temperatures. A year may be required to reach equilibrium at exposure temperatures of 90 deg C or less. The amount of R245ca absorbed at equilibrium is less than half of the amount of the other two refrigerants absorbed by the varnishes. R245ca and R11 were compatible with all varnishes tested. R123 appeared compatible with all varnishes except Y833.
