AN EMPIRICAL CORRELATION FUNCTION FOR THE DENSITY OF REFRIGERANTS IN THE LIQUID STATE.

Author(s) : BLANKE W., WEISS R.

Summary

IN THE PAST FOUR YEARS, EXTENSIVE INVESTIGATIONS ON THE VOLUMETRIC BEHAVIOUR OF THE REFRIGERANTS R11, R12, R22, R113, R142B AND R152A WERE CARRIED OUT AT THE PHYSIKALISCHE-TECHNISCHE BUNDESANSTALT. THE P,V,T MEASUREMENTS WERE FOCUSSED ON THE LIQUID SINGLE-PHASE REGION AT TEMPERATURES BETWEEN THE TRIPLE POINT AND 500 K AND AT PRESSURES OF UP TO 30,000 KILOPASCALS. AN EMPIRICAL CORRELATION FUNCTION HAS BEEN SET UP WHICH REPRODUCES THE MEASURED VALUES WITHIN THE SCOPE OF THEIR UNCERTAINTY OF MEASUREMENT OF MAXIMALLY 0.1%. THE EQUATION COMPRISES 11 CONSTANTS SPECIFIC TO THE SUBSTANCE, AND IS SUITED TO DESCRIBE THE DENSITY IN THE LIQUID SINGLE-PHASE REGION.
