Summary
Specific problems caused by banning the use of R12 in the air conditioning systems of farm tractors and other vehicles' are presented on the basis of retrofitting experiments carried out by the Massey Ferguson firm. Problems related to compressors, tightness of pipe joints, expansion valves, etc., that have in some cases prevented the use of R401C and R134a are described. Finally, future prospects for all circuit components, in particular variable-piston-capacity compressors and control systems are mentioned. Y.G.
